What is coming next in the skincare industry

Nothing beats the look and feel of healthy skin, right? The journey to achieving a luminous visage can feel like a long one, because nowadays, there is so much information at our fingertips.  LENDAVA is continuously investigating what is coming next in the beauty industry.

These is what is coming next in the BEUATY SPACE:

Do less, but make it count

The consumer is savvier today and we are starting to choose quality over quantity in everything we do.

This is causing the rise of the superstar ingredients in skincare. We have spent decades using a lot of harsh ingredients that are bad for our skin because society or social media told us to. Finally, the future of skincare is having scientific, healthy, and proven ingredients rise again to the top. People for the first time are reading product labels.

The Super Star Ingredients are:

  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin B3
  • Hyaluronic Acid
  • Peptides
  • Ceramides
  • Titanium dioxide and Zinc oxide (Mineral SPF)

STREAMLINED ROUTINES

More and more people are looking for products that can offer a number of skin benefits and be used in more way than one. “Beyond the obvious point of it saving you money, it streamlines your routine, and it reduces both confusion on what to apply and the potential to irritate the skin by using too many products all at the same time."

From two-in-one formulas and multitasking hybrids to increased education on how to use your products in alternative ways, we’re anticipating a less is more approach to skincare in 2023.

BIOTECHNOLOGY

In simple terms, biotechnology is the fusion of nature and science.  In skincare, it basically means taking the best of laboratory science, and the best of ‘natural’ ingredients and combining them to create amazingly effective products without using anything that can potentially harm the skin or body.

It’s a great alternative to 100 % natural or organic ingredients because it produces much less environmental impact AND it makes better, higher performing ingredients for skincare. For example, modifying the size of the molecule to penetrate skin.

So the skincare industry is not heading towards 100% natural products anymore, nor towards 100% synthetic products, but towards biotechnology, that combines both!

A more positive approach to aging

Aging is a privilege, and it’s also inevitable, which makes the term anti-aging somewhat redundant. Try as we may, no number of serums and treatments can permanently postpone the inevitable signs of aging skin, and the term anti-aging only serves to make us feel guilty about that fact.

There is a need for a more positive approach to skin concerns associated with age, like fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and loose skin. Women in particular are feeling more empowered as they age, and they don’t want to be told that this is a bad process!

The Bodification of Skin Care

Since the pandemic, people have embraced self care more than ever and as a result, skincare is extending past the face. This year and next are predicted to focus heavily on body care, including underarm care and scalp care.

The truth is skin care actives perform the same whether you’re applying them to your face or anywhere else. What differs (differs) with body products is the base formula and delivery system. I am happy that self-care is extending beyond just the face.
